The strength lies in the fact that the dishes based on these noodles (bun) are uniformly good...It's light and fresh and just a lot of fun to eat, with every bite using chopsticks to snatch up a bit of every ingredient to make a perfect bite.

Even classics such as fried spring rolls are excellently done, their crunchy shells stuffed with flavorful minced pork and hints of crab.

The atmosphere is intimate, exotic ambiance. The romantic, stylish dining room is enhanced by a 15-foot high ceiling, a 32-foot long custom-made straw and bamboo bar, bamboo tables, and modern chairs, bamboo and black leather banquettes with floral silk pillows, bamboo booths, slate walls and floors, original traditional, modern and Buddha paintings by well-known Vietnamese artists, track lighting, and an expansive open kitchen to create a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant.

Grilled dishes were generally excellent, especially the sizzling cast iron pan of cuttlefish - so fresh that it only bore only a hint of the creature's signature, sometimes overwhelmingly intense muskiness. Paired with a "salsa verd" made with plenty of aromatic, sharp and basilic rau ram , Michael Bao's version is probably the best cuttlefish we have eaten in New York.

I have been told about Bun Soho by a friend, so we take a business partner into this Vietnamese restaurant. The place is nice, clean well decorated with Vietnamese paintings. This make it much different from other Vietnamese restaurants in the Soho and Chinatown areas which often has good food but the space is not suitable for business meals. The food is good; I like Bun Mekong a lot. Bun Bo Hue is good.

Great place - interesting interpretation of classic vietnamese dishes, with some fun oddities thrown in. All the bun/pho dishes are fantastic - and the mussels are a must.

I stopped by Bun the other night. It had just opened and was a great find! The restaurant is small but has excellent modern decor that makes it feel roomy. Plus the food was great! It's served in small plates that are inexpensive and great to share. I highly recommend the pork covered sugar cane. Also has an excellent wine menu, and an adorable wait staff that helped us pick out the perfect one. Kudos! Great place for a drink and light eats.
